PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 12, 2017) – Volpe and Koenig, P.C., an intellectual property (IP) law firm with offices in Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ, hosted the 2017 American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Women in IP Global Networking Event on May 4 at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) in Philadelphia. The global event united female IP practitioners from more than 50 cities around the world for a day dedicated to establishing and strengthening relationships and exchanging ideas. The Philadelphia gathering drew more than 40 representatives from leading companies and law firms with an interest in intellectual property law. Midway through the evening, a “roll call” allowed local participants to greet counterparts from across North and South America via an intercontinental conference call.
Guests enjoyed refreshments by Starr Catering Group and painted vibrant flowers using watercolors under the instruction of artists from PAFA. Said Volpe and Koenig Executive Director Beth Collins, “This was a lot of fun and definitely not your typical networking event. We wanted to do something different while bringing this talented group of professionals together, and everyone seemed to appreciate that the evening was unlike any other.” Added firm President Gerald “Jay” B. Halt Jr., “It was our honor to host this year’s event in support of women working in the field of intellectual property law. Lots of new and renewed connections were made, and the flowers turned out great, too!”
