Andrew leverages his technical expertise in the prosecution, licensing, and due diligence of patents in the fields of communication systems and semiconductor devices.
Andrew works with clients both large and small to prosecute, license, and perform due diligence on patents in the field of electronics and computing. Andrew has a passion for technology with advanced skills and training in the field of electrical engineering that he uses to fully understand his clients’ inventions and better guide their intellectual property pursuits.
Andrew consistently receives praise from clients for his technical proficiency and strong grasp of a variety of fields. Andrew’s advanced technical training and skill set allow him to effectively interface with clients on the most complicated applications of technology.
Andrew understands not only the importance of accurate, defensive patent protection but also the value of versatile, detailed patents for use in future aggressive patent assertion. Andrew prosecutes all patent applications for his clients to achieve those objectives with the highest quality.
Andrew is a cellular technology expert and has helped numerous clients in the mobile wireless communication industry to acquire accurate, valuable patent protection. Andrew has assisted in the prosecution of numerous patent applications in both the US and abroad to successfully achieve the grant of a patent with very few patent office transactions keeping client costs at a minimum. Andrew also has an extensive background in circuit design and has used his expertise in the field to successfully and efficiently prosecute patents for digital and analog integrated circuits, discrete components and system level designs.
Andrew is also heavily involved in patent licensing for a variety of clients. Andrew assists in the generation of extensive claim charts with first hand experience advocating and defending clients’ positions in licensing negotiation meetings. Andrew also analyzes the validity, infringement and claim construction of patents. Andrew has performed these duties to assist in the acquisition, sale and assertion of patent portfolios ranging in size from a single patent to thousands of patents in the fields of wireless communication technology, graphics processing, software applications, consumer electronics, and GPS among other areas.
Andrew worked previously as a design engineer in the fields of lighting control and high speed, mixed signal integrated circuits while achieving his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering researching and developing novel techniques for phase noise analysis and low phase noise oscillators. As a design engineer, Andrew designed commercial product prototypes, testers for manufacturing lines, high speed CML buffers, 0.13u CMOS voltage regulators, numerous software applications and network communication interface layers.
