Joe’s practice focuses on domestic and foreign patent prosecution, intellectual property litigation, validity analysis support, infringement analysis support, and due diligence.
Joe works on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for clients ranging from large multinational corporations to entrepreneurial start-ups in emerging technology fields. Joe has helped prosecute patent applications in technology areas including prosthetics, computer hardware, semiconductors, microelectronics, optics, and drug delivery. He also has experience in patent acquisition due diligence, as well as preparation of claim charts.
Joe has experience in enforcing patent rights through litigation and reexamination- proceeding support. Joe has also provided extensive research and analysis on topics including maintaining ownership of IP rights, claiming functional language after the Williamson v. Citrix decision, and overcoming §101 rejections post-Alice Corp v. CLS Bank.
Though his technical experience is varied, Joe’s particular areas of focus include medical devices, biotechnology, electronics, optics, computer hardware, and wireless communications.
Joe has industry experience as an assistant medical lab technician at both Main Line Health and Quest Diagnostics. During that time, he developed an interest in electronics and medical devices and the legal strategies that ensure protection of innovations in those fields. That interest led to Joe’s work in patent law.

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, seeing/ performing in shows, exploring new restaurants, and trying to stay as active as possible. My hobbies include singing, running, event planning, interior design, and keeping up with new electronics.
