Michael’s practice focuses on assisting clients with overall intellectual portfolio management including patent, trademark and copyright prosecution and litigation. Michael also assists clients with due diligence matters including intellectual property licensing and acquisitions.
Michael assists clients in managing their entire intellectual property portfolios, including prosecuting patents and trademarks, both domestic and foreign, transactional matters and due diligence matters. Michael’s experience in inter parte matters includes litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings concerning patents, trademarks, trade dress, unfair competition, non-competition agreements, trade-secrets and internet domain names.
Michael’s clients vary from local “startups” to companies having a worldwide footprint, over a wide range of industries and technologies. His work has included handling trade dress litigation for a national casino chain, obtaining trademark protection for restaurant chains, managing the worldwide patent portfolio for a global electronic components company, reviewing copyright agreements for authors, and litigating patent and trademark disputes in the field of action sports.
Michael formerly practiced as a licensed pharmacist before entering into his law career in intellectual property.
Michael has been an instructor of Pharmacy Law at Temple University School of Pharmacy since 1995.
Michael speaks often regarding intellectual properties to various professional organizations.
Michael is a former Chair of the Trademark Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Intellectual Property Section
