Sunghoon Park focuses his practice on patent procurement and patent litigation, primarily in the area of telecommunications, wireless networking, and computer software.
Sunghoon has prosecuted patent applications to allowance before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has assisted patent litigations at various stages, including pleadings, discovery, trial, and appeal. Additionally, he helps start-up companies as well as long-established corporations assess and develop their intellectual property portfolios.
Sunghoon’s technical experience is in telecommunication system and standards, e.g. Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM). He worked for four years as a research engineer in telecommunications and mobile software at LG Electronics. At LG Electronics, he was responsible for all aspects of call processing in mobile communication handsets. His work was primarily focused on developing telecommunications system for multiple wireless carriers based on WCDMA, CDMA, and GSM.
Prior to joining Volpe and Koenig, Sunghoon worked at a major U.S. law firm in Philadelphia and a reputed Korean law firm in Seoul.
