Tom’s practice focuses on U.S. and international patent prosecution and intellectual property litigation.
Tom works closely with both domestic and foreign clients, focusing on each client’s individual needs during preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Tom has experience prosecuting patents related to mechanical systems, automotives, bicycles, biomedical devices, consumer products, telecommunication devices, and electromechanical devices.
Tom also engages in drafting provisional and non-provisional patent applications, working with clients to prepare continuation claim sets, and communicating with foreign associates regarding U.S. patent applications. Tom conducts foreign language translation audits, performs prior art studies, provides research support for reexaminations, and prepares patentability opinions for a variety of technologies. Tom is experienced working with independent inventors from the initial stage of drafting provisional applications through obtaining a granted patent.
Tom is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and is active in the Young Lawyers Division’s program. Tom also regularly competes in the Philadelphia Bar Association Athletic League.

Tom has co-authored numerous articles on issues of intellectual property law, including articles tracking recent patent law developments at the ITC, intellectual property issues related to fantasy football, and counterfeit goods issues regarding online marketplaces.
Life Beyond the Law
After work, I enjoy running and biking along Kelly Drive. On weekends, I can often be found on the driving range or out on the golf course. I also enjoy cooking and have recently taken up homebrewing.
