Volpe and Koenig Selects John C. Donch Jr. as Firm President
February 11, 2020 (Philadelphia, PA) – Volpe and Koenig, P.C., Philadelphia’s largest law firm dedicated solely to the practice of Intellectual Property, is pleased to announce that John C. Donch, Jr. has been elected President of the firm, effective February 11, 2020. Mr. Donch is only the third president of the firm since it was founded in 1987. He will follow in the footsteps of past presidents Anthony S. Volpe (firm founder and president from 1987-2008) and Gerald B. “Jay” Halt, Jr. (2008-2020).

John Donch began his career at Volpe and Koenig in 2002 as an Associate, working his way up to Shareholder, then to Director of Business Development and now to President. He serves as lead attorney on several of the firm’s largest clients and is well known and respected as a strong practitioner with a client-centric approach. As President, John will focus on the firm’s client relationships while maintaining an active IP practice. John focuses his practice on securing IP rights and counseling clients regarding IP issues to support each client’s business objectives and protect their market share. He has a deep commitment to customer service and is very active in the areas of patent prosecution, patent acquisitions, portfolio mining, claim charts, claim construction and validity reviews, licensing and litigation counseling and assessments.
John is a native of Philadelphia and currently resides in New Jersey with his wife of 25 years and his three daughters. He received his J.D. from Widener University School of Law, and his M.S. in Computer Engineering and B.S. in Civil Engineering from Drexel University.
