PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 13, 2016) – Representatives from Volpe and Koenig, P.C., an intellectual property law firm with offices in Philadelphia, PA, and Princeton, NJ, joined a group including judges, volunteer attorneys and students at the Judicial Intern Opportunity Program’s 2016 Orientation and Welcome Reception on June 9 at the James A. Byrne U.S. Courthouse in Philadelphia. Speaking on behalf of the firm, a program sponsor, Shareholder John C. Donch Jr. encouraged this year’s interns to make the most of their legal careers by understanding that the legal profession is a service business, building and maintaining relationships and demonstrating a strong work ethic. The Judicial Intern Opportunity Program, launched in 2000 by the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation, places minority, disabled, LGBT and financially disadvantaged law students into summer internships in the chambers of federal and state court judges throughout the country. To date, 1,979 internships have been awarded.
