Volpe and Koenig, P.C. President and CEO Named to Villanova’s Engineering Entrepreneurship Advisory Board

PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 3, 2017) – Volpe and Koenig, P.C., an intellectual property law firm with offices in Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ, announced today that President and CEO Gerald (Jay) B. Halt Jr. has been elected to serve on Villanova University’s Engineering Entrepreneurship Advisory Board for a three-year term. The Board provides guidance to the College of Engineering’s dean and administration, assisting with the development and execution of strategies that sustain the Engineering Entrepreneurship program and promoting corporate connections for the student and faculty population. Halt has been a guest lecturer in the program since 2012.

“Each semester, I enjoy introducing the Engineering Entrepreneurship students to intellectual property law as it relates to their work,” commented Halt, “and I now look forward to working with Dean Gabriele and his team to advance the program and further support the promising innovators who are coming through it.”

Halt’s practice at Volpe and Koenig, P.C. focuses on securing, licensing and enforcing intellectual property rights. His work includes litigation, inter partes matters, administrative proceedings, licensing of trademarks and technology, validity opinions and due diligence reviews. He is the author or co-author of numerous books and articles including the recently published book Intellectual Property and Financing Strategies for Technology Startups. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University and his law degree from Widener University’s Delaware Law School.
