Overview

Jon’s practice focuses on preparation and worldwide prosecution of a wide range of patent applications, counseling, litigation, licensing, and IP portfolio management.

Jon has counseled clients of various types and sizes, from small software firms to large global manufacturers. His technical experience is wide-ranging and includes litigating patents related to cyber-security, secure on-line financial transactions, digital video and audio recording, electronic securities trading, automated surveys, collaborative educational software, e-commerce, mobile and wireless control of digital displays, enterprise software and mobile navigation devices. Jon has also drafted and negotiated patent licensing agreements.

In patent prosecution, Jon has experience related to computer software, web server operations, wireless communications, Internet of things (IoT) and smart home products, ceramic capacitors, digital cameras, magnetic resonance imaging, cryptography, operating systems, peer-to-peer computing, digital content streaming, relational databases, flash memory and fiber optic transceivers.

Additionally, Jon has extensive experience drafting infringement and invalidity claim charts, and preparing rebuttal arguments to such charts.

Previous Work and Industry Experience

Prior to joining the firm, Jon worked as an associate at an intellectual property boutique in Philadelphia and in the intellectual property practice of a general practice firm in New York City.

Life Beyond Law

Jon enjoys  biking and jogging in Philadelphia and spending time with his wife and daughter. He likes reading good biographies and histories. Whenever he gets the chance, he likes to travel.
