Part of Volpe Koenig's CLE Webinar Series, ,this program was presented on Thursday, September 8, 2022. December 8, 2022
Artificial intelligence products and services have become part of everyday life all around the world. The rapid rise of new technologies across diverse industries as well as the quick adoption of AI/machine learning by people from all walks of life, continue to fuel innovation. Because artificial intelligence inventions share aspects of both software and human behavior, intellectual property protections and enforcement can be more challenging. The patentably issues become more nuanced when filing in multiple jurisdictions.
This webinar explores the similarities and differences in the preparation and prosecution of AI patents filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and/or the European Patent Office presented by seasoned IP attorneys in the U.S and Europe.
Patent practitioners will gain an understanding of:
- Developing USPTO and EPO case law related to software and AI
- Patentable subject matter under 35 U.S.C. §101 when it comes to artificial intelligence
- Practical considerations for seeking software/AI patents in Europe
This course has been approved for 1.0 Substantive CLE credit by PACLE.
