PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 10, 2017) – Anthony S. Volpe, co-founder and shareholder at intellectual property law firm Volpe and Koenig, P.C., was a featured speaker at two local bar association events in early April. He presented “Protection Under Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016” at the New Jersey State Bar Association’s 2017 Business Law Symposium on April 7, held at The Imperia in Somerset, NJ. He also joined a distinguished panel on April 5 for a joint presentation by the Bucks County Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Association of “Patent Infringement Litigation in U.S. District Court: Insights from Judges and Trial Attorneys.” The event was held at the Joseph Ambler Inn in North Wales, PA.

Volpe’s Business Law Symposium presentation covered limitations of the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 and the interplay of state employment and trade secret laws in establishing enforceable trade secret conditions in commercial agreements. On the Bucks County/Montgomery Bar Association “Patent Infringement” panel, he focused on validity and infringement analysis, considerations when deciding between bench and jury trials and the need to engage technical and damages experts early in the litigation process, particularly at the discovery stage.

With decades of litigation and counseling experience, Volpe specializes in the analysis of client business models and the design of intellectual property strategies that complement and advance client objectives. He also leads Volpe and Koenig, P.C.’s new national business mediation practice dedicated to resolving commercial disputes in an efficient and cost effective manner.
