Overview

Brandon helps individual inventors, small and medium sized businesses, and multinational corporations identify and protect their intellectual property both domestically and internationally. He primarily focuses on the preparation and prosecution of utility and design patent applications, including U.S. applications, foreign counterparts, and PCT applications.

Practicing both transactional and litigation intellectual property law, Brandon has experience conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate studies, and drafting opinions of counsel regarding infringement, enforceability, and validity issues. He advises clients regarding risk management and patent avoidance strategies. In addition, Brandon has prepared analyses of third-party patents and provided opinions related to non-infringement and invalidity of those patents.

Previous Work and Industry Experience

Prior to law school, Brandon worked for a defense contractor in Minneapolis, Minn. primarily focused on designing future military technologies.

Life Beyond Law

In his free time, Brandon enjoys golfing, being active outdoors, watching sporting events, and traveling.  Brandon has traveled around the country in an RV while working fully remote for more than a year and continues to do so to this day.
